This is the tale of spider Jim,
Things did not work out for him.
LISTEN!
He said to all the other spiders,
“It’s funny, but I do believe,
I feel a sudden Urge inside me,
A deep and pressing Urge to weave.”
Answered all the other spiders:
“JIM, don’t do it, JIM, please listen,
JIM, you’re bonkers, truth be told,
You can’t start a web in winter,
Out here in the freezing cold!”
Said Jim to the other spiders
“Perhaps you will find it odd,
But I thought I’d build it inside,
Somewhere by the curtain rod…”
Answered all the other spiders:
“JIM, don’t say that, JIM, good gracious,
JIM, calm down and take a breath!
Inside is no place for spiders,
Go in and it will be your death.”
But spider Jim was unrepentant
“No, my Urge says I must go”
Pleaded still the other spiders:
“Jim, we love you. No, please no!”
Dear, oh dearie, spider Jim –
Things did not work out for him.
Well, he entered through the window
Clambering bravely up the wall.
Commented the other spiders:
“Look, there goes he, Urge and all!”
DRAMATIC PAUSE
A little later they all heard,
That a murder had occurred.
In a struggle with a broom
Spider Jim had met his doom.
